A sad trend has been going on on Facebook, at least for danes, in the past couple of months. A big number of fake pages have been appearing mimicking big brands luring people to like and share their posts with fake competitions.
The scheme is made to get likes for the page and eventually sell it to marketeers who gladly pay for pages with 10.000+ likes.
I decided to do something about it after my personal Facebook-feed was swarmed with friends falling into the trap and thus I created an automated system to detect the fake Facebook pages.
It is not a guarantee and it will have false-positives - but the purpose of the page is first-and-foremost to educate the users.
Initially I created the website in Danish, but while adding better detection algorithms I also translated it into English.
