I naturally uninstalled the office 2010 beta (x64) build today, along with all other software components for this release and installed the x86 version, so i''m finally able to do syncronization with my Windows Mobile powered cellphone, however starting Outlook 2010 had its ''problems''. When starting it up: "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. An unexpected error has occoured. MAPI was unable to load the information service msncon.dll. Be sure the service is correctly installed and configured." I found out, this problem was caused by the Outlook Hotmail Connector. I had this component installed in the beta (x64) however I had to uninstall it for the office 2010 (x86) installer to function. Since the outlook hotmail connector assigns the hotmail accounts to a MAPI driver/handler and I had uninstalled this, outlook could''nt load the driver and thus got an error. Simple workaround: either remove your hotmail account or install the x86 version of the Hotmail Connector! Download links: Outlook Hotmail Connector (x86) (BETA) Hotmail Connector (x64) (beta)
